What is Tapioca?
Or did you, upon seeing our logo, first wonder: “What exactly is tapioca?”
We have the answers!
Tapioca is a starch extracted from the root of the manioc (cassava) plant. It is gluten-free, has a neutral taste, mainly carbohydrates, and contains almost no proteins or fiber. It is used in doughs and to thicken sauces, in puddings, and as “pearls” in drinks like bubble tea.
It is available in the form of flour, flakes, and pearls, which become translucent and jelly-like when cooked. Industrially processed manioc is safe to consume (processing breaks down natural cyanides), and tapioca gives gluten-free doughs elasticity and chewiness. It has a high glycemic index, providing quick energy.

Why is tapioca special?
- Gluten-free – suitable for various dietary needs
- High energy value – rich in carbohydrates, providing lasting satiety
- Healthy meal – a complete main dish, not just a snack
- Unique texture – light, elastic, and unlike anything else
